Therapists
Richard Palmer - Founder and Specialist Psychotherapist
I’m the founder of The Eating Disorder Recovery Clinic, and I bring both lived and professional experience to my work. I offer individualised, evidence-based therapy, tailoring treatment to each person rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I work with adults experiencing eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and compulsive exercise, as well as difficulties with body image and self-criticism.
My approach is honest, collaborative, and focused on real change. I understand that eating disorders are often ways of coping, and that recovery involves much more than just changing behaviours. Together, we work to understand what is keeping the eating disorder going, reduce its grip, and build a life that feels safer, more hopeful, and genuinely worth engaging in again.

LeeAnn Matthews - Specialist Therapist
I’m LeeAnn, an experienced therapist with a strong focus on supporting individuals dealing with eating disorders. My motivation to specialise in this area stems from personal experiences, as I have witnessed the struggles of loved ones in their relationship with food. Additionally, I spent valuable time volunteering on the helpline for Somerset and Avon Rape & Sexual Abuse Support (SARSAS). This experience heightened my awareness of how food can be used as a coping mechanism for managing difficult emotions. It sparked my curiosity and deepened my knowledge of eating disorders and their connection to traumatic life events.
I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors surrounding food and body image. Through a collaborative and personalised approach, I empower individuals to develop healthier coping mechanisms, rebuild their relationship with food, and achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
As a dedicated therapist, I am committed to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with the latest research and therapeutic techniques in the field of eating disorders. By combining my training, practical experience, and genuine compassion, I aim to make a positive impact on the lives of those I work with.
I look forward to joining you on your journey towards healing and supporting you in developing a healthier relationship with food and yourself. Together, we can navigate the challenges and unlock the potential for lasting transformation.

Amanda Brooke-Webb - Specialist Therapist
Hi, I’m Amanda, I am a qualified therapist with a specialism in eating disorders and working with children and young people. I am passionate about supporting the mental health of young people and children. I provide a safe place and essential support for a child or young person living with an eating disorder so that they recover and develop a healthy relationship with their body and food to live a happy life where they can be their true unique self.
This passion for supporting children and young people is driven by more than 20 years’ experience as a teacher. Being a teacher has given me invaluable knowledge of children and young people’s development and insight in how to work with them in a compassionate and creative way.
All young people and children deserve to be heard, supported and to blossom whatever their needs or situation.
I have a private practice where I see clients who do not have eating disorders. I may be able to help if you’re looking for therapy for your child and they don’t have an eating disorder. Please click here for more information.

Natasha Passell - Specialist Therapist
I am Natasha, and I am passionate about supporting people experiencing or affected by eating disorders. I grew up in the performing arts where eating disorders were rife, which inspired me to study psychology and later train as a mental health nurse. I have worked in acute inpatient eating disorder settings as well as residential community settings and NHS Child and Adolescent Community services.
More recently, since qualifying as a counsellor, I have worked in specialist eating disorder therapeutic services. I have trained in systemic practice and have a particular interest in working with restrictive eating disorders.
I describe my style as integrative, blending different approaches to suit the individual’s needs while maintaining a compassionate and relational approach. I invite feedback to ensure that our work feels helpful. I enjoy working creatively using metaphors, poems or imagery. I believe it is important for me to help clients explore and accept all aspects of themselves, and feel seen, heard, and understood.

Isabelle Osmond - Specialist Nutritionist
I’m Isabella, a BANT Registered Nutritionist specialising in eating disorders and disordered eating, with years of experience supporting clients in recovery. I was drawn to this work during my training, when I saw how much confusion, shame and distress people can experience around food, and how life-changing it can be when they receive compassionate, evidence-based support.
I work with individuals experiencing anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, orthorexia and patterns of disordered eating that may not fit a formal diagnosis. My aim is to help people heal their relationship with food and themselves in a sustainable, non-restrictive way.
My style is warm, collaborative and non-judgemental. Sessions are tailored to each person, as there is no one-size-fits-all approach to recovery. Clients can expect practical guidance and gentle encouragement towards change. I believe recovery happens when someone feels safe, understood and supported enough to rebuild trust in both their body and themselves.
