Your Path to Recovery
Your life, goals, and dreams are unique, and your treatment should reflect that. Below, we explain how we tailor our approach to each client, providing the best opportunity for long-term recovery.
Assessment and Treatment Planning
Eating disorders are unique to each person, and understanding your experience is key to helping you recover. That’s why we begin with a thorough assessment, where we’ll explore not just your eating disorder but also your wider life, so we can create a treatment plan that truly works for you.
Throughout this process, you’ll be fully involved in shaping your journey. Together, we’ll set meaningful goals and agree on the steps to reach them, always keeping your well-being at the heart of everything we do.
Your treatment may include working with one of our specialist therapists, and if it’s right for you, we can integrate additional support. This could involve a dietitian, family involvement, or increased care during challenging times. We’ll also collaborate with your healthcare providers to ensure your physical health is looked after just as carefully as your emotional well-being.
One-to-One Therapy
Our therapy approach is designed to address both the eating disorder and the underlying issues that may be maintaining it. Using evidence-based therapies such as CBT-E, MANTRA, and interpersonal psychotherapy, we focus on helping you challenge harmful patterns and rebuild a healthy relationship with food. Additionally, we take a trauma-informed approach to address any past experiences that may be contributing to the eating disorder.
Alongside the eating disorder, we work to resolve other challenges such as body dysmorphia, compulsive exercise, anxiety, depression, and perfectionism. Your therapy will be tailored to you, and you’ll work with the same therapist throughout, ensuring consistency and trust as you move forward.
There’s no set limit on the number of sessions—it’s all about moving at your own pace and addressing your goals thoroughly.
We’re committed to supporting you on the path to long-term recovery, helping you build a fulfilling life beyond the eating disorder. Between sessions, you’ll have practical tasks and activities to help you develop the skills needed for recovery, giving you the tools to maintain your progress even after treatment ends.
Extra Support For When Life Gets Tough
We understand that life can bring challenges, even during recovery, and that extra support can be essential at those times. We’re able to increase your support when you need it most, whether that means adding an extra session each week for a short period or arranging check-ins with a support worker between sessions.
We also recognise the important role family and loved ones can play in your recovery. If it feels right for you, we can involve them in your treatment to help strengthen your support network and maintain recovery long term.
Our approach is flexible, ensuring that you have the right level of support when life’s demands become overwhelming.
Nutritional Support
Our dietitian provides personalised guidance to help you make informed choices about meals, snacks, and portion sizes, all tailored to your specific needs and preferences. Whether it’s overcoming challenges with certain foods, managing fear foods, or planning balanced meals, your dietitian will work at your pace, always focusing on your goals.
The dietitian collaborates closely with your therapist, ensuring that your nutritional support aligns with the overall treatment plan. Together, we aim to help you rebuild a positive relationship with food and develop long-term, sustainable eating habits that will support your recovery well beyond treatment.
Collaborative Medical Care
We work closely with your GP, psychiatrist, and other healthcare providers to fully support your physical health throughout your recovery. This includes collaborating to ensure your health is being monitored correctly and according to NICE guidelines.
If appropriate, we can also help you access ADHD or autism assessments. By coordinating your medical care alongside your therapy and nutritional support, we ensure every aspect of your health is considered during treatment.
